Artists + Community Master Class with Visiting guest artist-instructor Ruth Howard!

Starting Points Community Collaborative Arts Master Class is open to experienced Community Collaborative Artists and host communities/organizations:
Participants will experiment with creative processes stemming from different starting points and map out how a compelling catalyst idea can guide and unify a complex community arts process through all its phases, introductions, research, creation, presentation and legacy.
Ruth Howard is founding artistic director, Jumblies Theatre (Toronto), one of Canada’s foremost experts in community collaborative arts, and a leader in the community play form. With Jumblies, she has created and led a series of multi-year residencies that have resulted in large-scale performances. Ruth is a graduate of Eastbourne College of Art and Design, the National Theatre School of Canada, and the University of Toronto. She has several decades of professional experience as a set and costume designer, and has teaching credentials at many universities, colleges and schools.
This course counts toward the Community Collaborative Arts Training Program Certificate with the Manitoba Institute for Artists + Community Collaboration.
